My name is Craig, I'm a recovering over eater. I tend to eat and eat and eat whenever I'm depressed, stressed at work, sleepy, etc. I've attended an addiction recovery class am going through it again. Need information -- its not mine and its free. I am starting this journal to assist others that would like to overcome the results for eating addictions and would also like to get the weight off. The addictions recovery portion is one set of weekly classes. The weight loss portion is team supported via forum with team members holding each other accountable for their promises. Whether you wish to take off a few pounds or 100+ pounds, we do have methods that will assist you to become the best you that you can imagine. I'm hoping that with the support we can provide and my journal of my journey, you'll be influence and believe that you too can overcome this addiction. Just like alcoholics, I'm told overeating addiction is something that I'll need to be "aware" about for the rest of my life and to guard against situations that may lead to it again.
I'm 62. 6'6 and close to 300 pounds. My best weight is 220-230#. Married for 12 years (previously married twice) and very happily married now. My wife is very supportive. I have 6 kids : 4 boys and 2 girls. We merged families when the kids were teens which was an interesting experience that I'll share at some point. I/we just became an empty nesters.
Career: I'm a software project manager and just got off of 15 hour software install this weekend. I am also a business entrepreneur and am starting my 2nd business which I intend to launch in January. The first one was very successful, cash based and I sold it in August of 2013.
My fat suit: I love the wording. That implies it's not a prison and removable. I have lost weight on one other program but was looking for a more supportive way to lose weight this time with a more reasonable calorie count. I'm excited to take off about 65 pounds while walking and building up my body strength. I'm also looking for a return to health. I have all kinds of "fat" related symptoms that flare up when I get this heavy: sleep apnea, reflux, sore knee joints, shortness of breath, etc. Luckily high blood pressure isn't one of them. And when I do take off the fat suit they all go away.
I've done a 30 day raw diet before and while it was hard (not a lot of variety and time intensive) it wasn't that hard. I'm looking forward to being supportive of any that want to join me on this journey and I'm hoping you'll assist me too. I lost weight on that one too and found it again within 30 days. I'm done losing weight -- it always comes back :-) Now I'm releasing weight to all the skinny people that need more.
My goal is to RELEASE the weight and become a recovered food addict. It's important to say it as it is and acknowledge it. My other goal is to weigh about 200-220 pounds. I'm tired of sitting in the car for activities like horse back riding (usually max weight 230-250 pounds) and amusement parks where I don't fit. Or just not being able to get on the floor and play with my grand kids.
What else do you want to know?
Craig.
